Dr. Jones was born and raised in Alexandria, Louisiana and graduated with a B.A. in Liberal Arts: Humanities and Social Thought (Philosophy) from The Louisiana Scholars’ College in 2002. From there, Dr. Jones was accepted into the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine program at LSU and graduated 4 years later in 2006.

Since graduation, Dr. Jones has exclusively practiced emergency medicine at several clinics spanning Florida, Alabama, and Louisiana gaining a variety of different, yet valuable experiences. Dr. Jones, however, found a home at Veterinary Healthcare Associates in Dec. ‘07 when he found an environment that not only allowed him to practice high quality medicine and surgery in a state of the art facility, but also do so with other doctors and staff members whose value system agreed with his own.

Dr. Jones enjoys emergency medicine because of cases like gastric dilatation volvulus (bloat) that allow an emergency clinician to save or make a large improvement in a patient’s life in a short amount of time.

When Dr. Jones is not covering emergency shifts, he enjoys hanging out with his 5 cats, and 2 dogs, or mountain biking and hiking. Currently, his goal is to either hike or bike every significant off-road biking or hiking trail within a 50-70 mile radius of Winter Haven. He has currently completed about 50% of the trails. Dr. Jones especially enjoys spending time with his daughter, Ryleigh Anne, during his off time.
